Questions or concerns? cirque.macabre@gmail.com is the best way to contact us.

If you'd like to keep up on the latest news, check back often or join the Cirque Macabre LiveJournal, MySpace, or our mailing list:

Run away and join the Cirque!

How do I join the street team or volunteer?

It's easy! All flyers are available as PDFs on the main page. If you'd like pre-printed material, please send an email to cirque.macabre@gmail.com and we'll happily send you a stack. Have fun spreading the news, and thank you!

If you'd like to volunteer to work the event itself, please email us. All volunteers will receive free admission to the Cirque, lunch with the entertainers and staff, and a discounted t-shirt.

What is the closest airport?

Raleigh-Durham International (RDU) is right down the road.

Is there an official hotel?

YES! The Clarion State Capital hotel is just a few blocks away from both the pre-party AND the show itself. This very distinct building has recently gone through a multi-million dollar upgrade. However, the restaurant at the top *still* doesn't rotate. Can you tell I'm disappointed?

It is non-smoking, but does have designated smoking areas out front, as well as in the covered parking deck. Our rates are $69/night for 2 people or less, $79/night for 3+ people - please tell them you are booking within the Cirque Macabre block of rooms.

Who is on the staff?

After making her debut as a promoter by co-founding the Eccentrik Festival, Ringmaster Cat decided to start up the complementary Springtime festival Cirque Macabre. She's been part of the goth scene for far longer than it is polite to mention. You can find out more about Cat via her livejournal: http://meiow.livejournal.com

Internet Infamous as The Lion in the Live Action Kenya video, Lyria the Lion Tamer consumes new music and martinis at the speed of light. Her radio station, The Dark Zone, has been cueing up cutting edge underground music since 2001. By day she's a Mac/Web/Database geek, but by night her long time love affair with the club scene draws her into DJing and event promotion with the monthly Dirge Factory in Raleigh, among others. She's always looking for guest gigs as well.

Thomas: In the beginning there was the olive: fragrant, succulent and tart. Then came chocolate: dark, smooth and bitter. From this twisted amalgam of delicacies came the man known as Thomas. Neither particularly fragrant nor any shade resembling dark, and neither particularly bitter nor tart, he seemed to be the complete antithesis of his creators; however, due to his unerring devotion to propriety, Thomas' relations to both smooth and succulent are still mysteries. What is know is that he strives endlessly to please and that brought forth the attention of our dear Cat.

Finding little aid in his quest to actually see the musicians that he had begun to enjoy so very much (aside from lengthy travels to attend weeknight shows and the annual release that is Eccentrik Festival), Thomas made a bargain that Cat didn't refuse. In exchange for his time, effort and admission to his wine cellar, Cat would allow him to recruit the bands he so desired to see. It was a match made in the back room of a leather shop and all displeasure may be heaped upon the feet of this precocious upstart. Except there will not be any disappointment, not if Thomas has anything to say about it.

Acting as a band coordinator and assisting with advertising are the easiest part of the duties assigned to our neophyte promoter. Indeed, it will be the keen observation to detail that only someone sentenced to a decade of creating MS Excel Spreadsheets can muster. For, one must realize, herding even a single Cat is much more of a curse than a duty. One might say that Thomas has been training for this night his entire life...
